We’re putting this game to bed soon enough – Mike Hesson on RCB’s 68 All-Out vs SRH

Royal Challengers Bangalore are aiming to move on from their lackluster performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first leg of IPL 2022. BCR were eliminated for their second-lowest IPL total by SRH – 68.

RCB and SRH face off again, as they will compete for a place in the IPL 2022 playoffs.

RCB currently sit in fifth place with 12 points from 11 matches while SRH have slipped to sixth in the points table after a 21-point loss to Delhi Capitals.

However, Orange Army have a one game advantage over RCB in the IPL 2022 playoff battle.

RCB director of cricket Mike Hesson has said the team will start afresh against Kane Williamson and his men regardless of the previous encounter.

“I think sometimes it’s always in the back of your mind. We put this game to bed pretty early; we were dominated. The terrain was completely different and offered just a bit. They (SRH) played really well, and every time we played and missed, we got through,” Hesson said.

“The players are humans, so they believe in these things, but I also think it’s a different day, it’s a different pitch, it’s a day game. It’s obviously further along in the tournament. “There’s different pressures going on right now, different guys are in shape. It’s not necessarily a flow, but it’s not something you forget in a hurry,” he added.

Everything is day to day: Faf du Plessis

RCB captain Faf du Plessis said he would tackle each remaining game one by one rather than rushing things.

“Very easy for me. It’s very clear that you have to approach every match with what’s ahead of you. You can’t look at the chart, and the net run rate (NRR) and it really focuses on “Today we have practice”, there are a few things we want to work on; it’s still hot, it’s going to be hot, it’s a day game, so how do we conserve our energy? said du Plessis.

“Everything is just day to day. And then when you have an opportunity in a game where you can look at the run rate, then and only then do you start talking about the net run rate,” he added.

RCB take on SRH on Sunday May 8 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
