My Hero Academia Battle Royale game revealed, closed beta announced

Bandai Namco announced My Hero Ultra Rumble this week amid the ongoing Anime Expo event, a game that pits characters from my hero academia against each other in a free Battle Royale brawl. It is developed by Byking, the same studio that worked on the companion my hero academia Game The justice of my hero, and it doesn’t have a release date yet, but Bandai Namco has given players a date to look forward to for the first closed beta test. An announcement from earlier this year first gave us the name before this first trailer and other details.

Like those who played past my hero academia the games might have already guessed, the unique Quirks wielded by different heroes and villains from the series and manga will be one of the defining parts of the game that set playstyles apart. This battle royale setup features three teams of eight, so matches consist of 24 players in total. We know that these characters are divided into “assault”, “support”, and “disruption” categories, but we don’t yet know how many characters the game will launch with, nor do we know which characters will be included. However, a few characters have already been confirmed, such as those featured in the game’s first trailer below.

What we do know is that the game will be free on every launch and the opportunity to test it isn’t too far off, giving a positive indication of the game’s release date. The first closed beta test will take place in two parts, the first starting on August 17 and continuing until August 18. Part 2 will begin on the same day just hours after Part 1 ends, with Part 2 continuing until August 21. Both of these tests will be closed, which means you have to sign up and hope you take part, and they’re also only limited to the PlayStation 4 platform.

My Hero Ultra Rumble does not yet have a release date but will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam
