Kubrat Pulev beats Frank Mir at Triller Triad Combat, TKO standing, video, end, late save, referee

Fight fans were stunned as an unbalanced fight between the UFC legend and a boxing beast turned into a terrifying and very late stoppage.

Triller’s controversial Triad Combat show saw boxers and MMA fighters face off in a triangle-shaped ring, with the main event featuring 42-year-old former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir against former 40-year-old world heavyweight title challenger Kubrat Pulev.

But Mir was very clearly overwhelmed from the opening bell and once Pulev’s shots started to land, the end was near.

The problem was that referee Dan Miragliotta took his time asking for the technical knockout.

After a series of heavy punches, Mir was standing by the ropes, looking like a character from the Mortal Kombat video game waiting for his opponent to strike his “Fatality” finisher.

” He’s standing ! What does Miragliotta do? He’s standing ! This one is finished! cried the lead commentator.

Pulev, clearly realizing that he wasn’t in danger of losing, simply stomped his foot on his opponent, then stood there watching Mir float in and out of consciousness.

Eventually, Miragliotta called the bell and happily the fight ended via TKO.

Fighting experts were shocked at the referee’s actions, and even the fight booked in the first place.

The event was billed as a team battle, with MMA fighters facing boxers across the map. MMA fighters won the overall standings despite losing Mir in the main event.
