Over 10% of the top performing YouTube channels are games related, including the platform’s most subscribed channel. So who are the must-have players on YouTube? Let us break it down for you:


Subscribers: 35 million

Mr. Number One himself, PewDiePie, aka Felix Kjellberg, is the Swedish video game superstar who regularly tops the list of most subscribed channels on YouTube. With 35 million subscribers, he’s more popular than Rihanna and One Direction combined. A natural trendsetter, Felix has led the charge on controversial measures like shutting down the notoriously toxic comment sections of YouTube. While he prefers horror games, Felix has also tried his hand at platform games, first-person shooters, and of course the ever-popular Minecraft.

Game comedian VanossGaming aka Evan Fong is known for his humorous Let’s Plays, mostly featuring horror games. His popular videos often feature a rotating cast of collaborators, and fans tend to enjoy the interaction between Vanoss and his friends as much as they enjoy the sometimes unorthodox game.

Spanish YouTuber based in Los Angeles, Samuel de Luque, best known for his Dragon Ball invoking the YouTube alias VEGETTA777, is a Let’s Player who favors adventure games, one-on-one combatants, and Minecraft. Its 8.8 million subscribers make it the 34th most popular individual channel on YouTube and the first Spanish gaming channel on the platform.

Olajide “JJ” Olatunji, who goes by YouTube KSI and KSIOlajidebt, is a Pewdiepie-style gamer focusing primarily on arcade and horror games to which he brings his own unique brand of commentary. Based on the success of his playing career, Olatunji has recently branched out, launching a musical career as a rapper.
