The main way to level up quickly in Fortnite, without purchasing Battle Pass levels of course, involves completing the wide variety of quests available each week.
There are other things you can do as well, like opening ammo boxes and chests, or eliminating people and surviving storm phases. Basically anything you do in Fortnite will earn you XP, but completing quests is definitely the way to go.
A new way to earn XP is the Impostors mode which was introduced at the end of Season 7, and it allows people to level up quickly. The XP available there isn’t as big as it used to be, but it’s still a decent way for players to level up while having fun.
Epic is aware that leveling up in the Battle Royale portion of Fortnite isn’t quite where they want it to be, so they’re going to change that in a future update.
XP being improved
September 21, The announced epic that they will improve the XP earned in Battle Royale on September 28, which will likely be the case when a new update comes out.
We don’t know exactly what happened between Season 7 and Season 8 in terms of XP, but it looks like Epic just wasn’t happy with the way things turned out.
We have noticed that the XP gained in Battle Royale this season is not where we would like it to be and we are making various improvements.
We’ll update everyone on September 28 with the changes we’re making. Thanks for playing Season 8!
For now, anyone can guess what the changes will be, but it can’t be worse than the current situation. Keep in mind that we’re still at the start of Season 8, so seeing a lobby full of low-level players is no surprise, but it looks like we’ll see the end of that soon.
Perhaps more importantly, it appears to lock in next week as the first update for Season 8.
What has happened so far?

Epic games
The start of Season 8 got off to a surprisingly fast start compared to some of the previous seasons.
This time around we’ve got a bunch of cubes that have landed on the map, and thanks to a few leaks we’ve got a feel for where they’ll all go.
Season 8 will also give us an arena overhaul at some point, and they’ve already added fills to the game, so the mode is more accessible than before.
On top of all that, we got the new Sideways weapon and even a new item to play with, so there’s a bunch of fun stuff to try out, at least in the short term.
The new updates usually bring new and exciting things to Fortnite, especially the ones from the start of the season. That would mean we have some interesting things to look forward to outside of the XP buff, so stay tuned for more on that.
So far, the start of the season is looking good, but Epic will have to keep coming up with things to do if they want the players to be engaged.
