The Buffalo Sabers have played two outdoor games in their history. The first was the very first Winter Classic, which was played on January 1, 2008 against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The second took place on January 1, 2018, when the Sabers played at Citi Field against the New York Rangers.

However, these were the two Winter Classic Games. The Sabers will play in another away game in the 2021-22 season, but this time it will be in a Heritage Classic game.

The Sabers will play vs. the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 13, 2022 in Hamilton at 3 p.m. It’s the 2022 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic game. The game will technically be a home game for the Sabers, but it will be played at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ont.

The Sabers will be the first American team to compete in the Heritage Classic, which usually features two Canadian teams.

Rumor has it that the game has been played for a long time, but it became official on Thursday morning.

This will be the third away game of the next NHL season. The St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild will play in the Winter Classic on January 1, 2022 and the Tampa Bay Lightning and Nashville Predators will play in the NHL Stadium Series on February 26, 2022.

The question remains, however, what will happen to the border? Will the border be back to normal by March 2022?

It will be cool to see the Sabers play in Toronto in an outdoor game, and even cooler to have the Sabers be the first American team to play in the NHL Heritage Classic.
