The Blue Raiders enter Monday having completed one of the biggest year-over-year turnarounds in the nation, having bettered last season’s win tally by 14. Only Towson (17), Wake Forest (15) and Iowa State (16) have made bigger jumps.
Middle Tennessee returns to Murphy Center, where they have the longest active home winning streak in Conference USA at 14 games.
MT secured its first overall record since 2017-18 and enters Monday’s game with a two-game lead over WKU (9-3 C-USA) at the top of the East Division.
» Teafale Lenard Jr. 34 dunks on the season is the second most by a Blue Raider since 2016-17, behind only Reggie rushesturns 49 in 2018-19. After stopping seven shots in his last three games, Lenard is sixth in Conference USA and 87th nationally with 31 rejections this season.
The Miners are coming off their first road sweep in six tries of LA Tech and Southern Miss, including an 84-70 win over the Golden Eagles on Feb. 19
Souley Boum is ahead of C-USA in free throws made (131-16th NCAA). He’s 24-27 in the last three games and has made at least five free throws in 15 different games.
Tydus Verhoeven (1.04-12th) and Jamari Sibley (1.0-13th) are both in the top 15 in the league in blocked shots per game.
The Miners have won eight of 10 C-USA 9-5 wins after a 1-3 start to the league. This is the most league wins since 2016-17 (12-6).
